Just announced by Angelinos After Midnight Project and featuring the previously premiered "Hourglass", the 8-track extended play might as well be a full-length album. (Positive style developments have been noted!) They play tonight at The Viper Room in Hollywood, CA. Check their spring/summer schedule; however, no Canadian dates have been announced.

So much for revealing such information yesterday, boys. This tour had better have some more inter-band action than November 6th; I was really looking forward to it then. While we're on the subject, tickets for the Pixies's cross-Canada Doolittle tour went on presale less than 3 days ago. They've sold out all 22 shows, as of yesterday night.

Diamond Eyes tour; Twin Shadow; Cults at the Horseshoe Tavern

Official post and a complete list here, but alt-metal veterans Deftones and The Dillinger Escape Plan are co-headlining actually, TDEP are the openers for the 2011 Diamond Eyes tour. Their first show is mid-April in Seattle, Washington.

There are a couple of Canadian stops on the first leg (namely Vancouver on the 18th and Montreal on May 4th). The closest they're coming Toronto-wise is Detroit, Michigan. If they're headed your way- even if you've only heard of them- I strongly recommend it. These guys do not disappoint.

The Horseshoe Tavern will be playing host to George Lewis Jr. (aka Twin Shadow) come Wednesday of next week. The show is 19+, but they don't usually cost much; the only possible concern is maximum capacity at the venue.

Also on their way to the Horseshoe Tavern this April 4th is New York indie pop group, Cults. More dates here.

Dragonette in Ontario to start the year

Martina Sorbara performing in Los Angeles; by Liz Caruso

The following three dates (mark them, university kids) have just been posted on their site. Funnily enough, they seem to have forgotten that it's no longer 2010.

Wednesday, January 26th: Kingston, ON @ The Ale House
Thursday, January 27th: Ottawa, ON @ Babylon
Friday, January 28th: Waterloo, ON @ The Starlight

The London/Toronto synth-pop act are currently wrapping up production on their third studio album. Although best remembered for the debut solo "I Get Around", their stylistic departure in the form of 2009's Fixin To Thrill- was equally impressive (if not better). Favourite tracks? "Big Sunglasses", "Come On Be Good". From Galore, "Black Limousine".
