MCR's "Sing" video (Fabulous Killjoys)

I've never been into My Chemical Romance.

I've never been into "Welcome to the Black Parade" or Gerard Way's alleged prettiness. They were neglected in general by me, but I'm willing to give it another go with the release of Danger Days: The True Lives of Fabulous Killjoys. In no way do I approve of the guns in this music video. Otherwise, it's an approachable song and an uplifting clip. (preorder on iTunes)

  1. I recently learned that the producer of this album is one well-known for his work with Green Day. And I can definitely see the influence as far as the musical style and storyline go.

I didn't like MCR until this album either, so I see where you're coming from. But I really think this album is making people take them more seriously.

  2. I'm not sure how much that should affect my reception of the album, considering The Black Parade was also produced by Rob Cavallo. Prior to that, Howard Benson did some work with them and he's one of the more successful producers.

I think the natural evolution of their style is a larger factor.

  3. I haven't listened to all of The Black Parade but I have heard that there is somewhat of a storyline there too. I just think that the storyline of the new album is much more well-executed.
